Lets jump right back into our #selfcare challenge with 3 incredibly effective and inexpensive products that you should be using in your daily #skincareroutine. We’re talking about Monistat 7, Castor Oil, and Persa Gel-10.
Monistat is almost exclusively comprised of an ingredient by the name of Miconazole Nitrate. As it is sold, the monistat brand is marketed as a fungal vaginal remedy; however, if you look at the ingredients, there is only one active ingredient, #miconazolenitrate. There are other ingredients in the product, but the one that’s actually doing something for your skin/afflicted area is just the miconazole.
What people don’t realize about this ingredient is that it was originally developed as a catch all treatment for #fungal infections on the body. It has since been rebranded and re-marketed to include yeast infections and fungal infections as they relate to #womenshealth, but it is still just as effective at treating regular skin infections as it was the day it was developed! Dont believe us? How about this quote from The Official Journal of Skin and Stem Cell Research Center: “Miconazole is an #antifungal drug that inhibits P. acnes growth by eradicating M. furfur. Therefore, it can be used in patients with mild to moderate acne as an adjuvant therapy.”
This is a product that we recommend to ALL of our clients, yes, even our male clients, and once those clients actually use the product they are amazed at the results. Give it a try and let us know what you think of how this works on your skin!
Benzoyl peroxide, or Persa-Gel 10, attacks the bacteria on your skin. It also helps to unclog pores by removing dead skin to prevent blockages. This treats existing acne and may help prevent new spots. Now, some people are bit more sensitive to this product than others. If you know that you are one of these people, then we encourage you to reach out to us for alternatives. We can offer some great advice as to what you can use in it’s place. If Persa-Gel 10 does becomes too harsh for you after using it there are plenty of other options out there.
Lastly is Castor Oil, a product we have been talking about and using since we started our YouTube journey last year. This product has been instrumental in many ways for us, but some of the highlights that it accomplishes are: acne reducing, redness diminishing, moisturizing, sunburn fighting, and more! Additionally, it works as a way to naturally increase the length and fullness of your eyelashes. This one we were skeptical about at first, but after over a year of use, we can say that (in our case) it does work well!
