#gifted_by_Curlsmith Now y’all know I’m a @curlsmith Stan so I was excited to get their Curly Discovery Kit. As someone whose hair toes the line between curly and coily, I found the kit to be a good intro to the brand. It came with the Essential Moisture Cleanser and Essential Moisture Conditioner, which are newer to the moisture line. I’ve only tried the Curl Quenching Conditioning Wash from that line and loved that, so I knew this would be a good shampoo and conditioner to use after something clarifying.
They also included the Hold Me Softly Style Balm, which is a soft hold styler, and the Curl Defining Styling SoufflĂ©, which is more medium to strong hold. I leaned towards the latter since I like a stronger hold product. The balm is better for looser curls or for refreshing hair if you have tighter curls/coils like I do. The In-Shower Style Fixer is my OG strong hold styler from Curlsmith for a week-long wash & go, but the Styling Souffle is a great runner up in my opinion and doesn’t leave as crunchy of a cast to scrunch out. I have no problem with a crunchy styler since I scrunch it out with a little bit of oil and am good to go, but for the girlies that don’t like the crunch but want the hold then the Curl Defining Styling Souffle is for you.
Overall, I think this Discovery Kit is a good intro to the brand and a good gift to give the type 3 curly girls in your life. If you have type 4 hair then try their Coily Discovery kit for some more nourishing and stronger hold products.
