Graduating to Black belt status in #skincareroutine for dark spots or even Melasma (but always best to chat with dermatologist on prescription options in addition to these pointers)
Ways to upgrade your morning routine if you struggle with dark spots on the face or even melasma:
Morning
Apply a vitamin c serum
in the morning. Ascorbic acid is an antioxidant that binds to copper and inhibits the enzyme that creates pigment- tyrosinase. You can look into affordable options with ascorbic acid like Vichy, Timeless, Maelove or invest in the gold standards made by SkinCeuticals.
Then follow up with a moisturizer
with SPF that is tinted with iron oxide- this is needed to filter visible light that can definitely worsen your dark spots and/or melasma
(I am using DRMTLGYโs tinted moisturizer with SPF or EltaMD on many days going into the office)
At bedtime
Apply your fav retinoid to the entire face if youโre not pregnant to top it all off.
Hope this helps and happy Sunday
