Just an Indian Girl with Wavy Hair!

A few weeks back, i did a series of stories about how another curl cream had failed me and how the thin, wavy hair type never seemed to be on a brand’s mind while making products for curly hair (Saved on Wavy Issues highlights) Inclusivity is a MYTH when it comes to curl brands 🙄

More than a decade ago, popular representation in cinema and TV told me that my wavy hair was supposed to be curly and i just hadnt yet ‘discovered’ the right way to get there- as if some Midas touch would magically turn them into maggi curls one day! I cannot, absolutely cannot tell you how many years of my life did i end up wasting living with the illusion that i had curly hair 😑😑😑

I dont! I dont have the kind of curly hair they show in pop culture. I have thin, medium density waves where some strands are super thick while majority are thin. They flow on some days while appear matted on the other. I dont know my porosity and have never tried finding out. The more i saw those stupid porosity tests online and tried using products as per them, the more i failed. 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ And the more i went with my instinct, the better my hair did! 🤍

I was born and raised in Nainital. My mum has more defined waves than me. I had my hair straight all the while in school. Do the math 🤣
