Hello to all my wonderful wavies and curly and coily coterie!
While I was taking a little break to focus on moving, I decided to play with different styling techniques to see if I could find something new to share. In the process, I came across a video by Jannelle O’Shaughnessy where she shows how to do the Ouidad Rake and Shake Method ( I was curious about it, but didn’t think it would really work. I was sure shaking your hair like that would make it really frizzy. But to my surprise, it worked really well for my hair! Using this method gave me really defined curls, more volume, and the results lasted longer than normal for me.
After trying it once, I decided this was the routine for me. I was much happier with my results than normal. So I tried it a few more times, and each time, I was super pleased with how my hair turned out. I’m so used to styling my hair being a bit of a gamble. Sometimes it turns out well, sometimes it doesn’t. But this routine took out some of the gambling when it came to my curly hair.
This technique works so well for my 2c/3a curls even with them being low porosity and having such long hair. I would recommend this to anyone with wavy hair or looser curls looking to try something new. Your results may vary depending on your hair type, length, and porosity, but I hope that this can help you to achieve the wavy hair or curly hair look you’ve been hoping for.
